June’s Perspective on Real Estate
You walk or drive over them everyday in Portland, but have you ever looked down at some of the wonderful art sitting in the middle of your street? This photo was taken at the base of Mt. Tabor near 57th and Salmon. This cover has an intricate rose on its cover, as do many of the street covers in the Rose city. Historically speaking, its difficult to say where these covers were made and when. Much of the iron has been worn off from so much wear over the last 100 years. Many of the covers do display the name of the manufacturing company that created them, and I’m sure that a few of these corporations are around today.
