A Few Small NE Portland Attractions
Grant Park and Irvington are located in prime NE areas close to Portland, Lloyd Center and the Max. I currently have a home for sale there, and was doing a little walking around the neighborhood. What makes Portland, Oregon so unique, in my opinion, is the fact that each neighborhood has its own personality and hidden shops or eateries.
If you live in Irvington and Grant Park, there are a lot of restaurants, parks, and shops to choose from. You could stroll down to Grant Park, or even Hollywood, or walk to all of the shops on Broadway. Beaumont village is also a quick bike ride, as is Wilshire Park. One of my favorite little areas is tucked into Irvington and includes the Foster and Dobbs and Mio Gelato stores.
This is a perfect mix for a neighborhood, especially inn the hot summer that we are having right now. Foster and Dobbs is a specialty food store that offers fine wines, cheeses, meats and other specialties. Mio Gelato offers a nice selection of Gelato, an italian specialty made from scratch at the store.
I stopped in last week and walked through the stores and just thought how much was available in these inner NE neighborhoods to see and do. NE Portland is definitely a special place to live.

April 11th Auction at John Ross
The Oregonian reported today that The John Ross tower on the South Waterfront will have an auction at 1pm on April 30th in order to help meet their goal of selling out the tower by the end of 2010. Starting bids will be significantly lower than current asking prices on 50 properties. Much like the Atwater auction, you will have to pre-register.
